  1. This interview is important because it gives you a sense of how little headway we have made in America when it comes to ageism. The question about what to call “us” is still up there. The workplace and issues of retirement are still up there.Kuhn is not quite prepared for the q and a section of the program, and she is non-specific, repetitive and then too specific (and dated) in her political answers. The interviewer is distracting, looking off to the side (for advice on how to cut her off at one point?)
    The fact that we are still trying to solve the same “problems” of being old is what makes this artifact so important.

  2. Thank you for this post. Thank you Maggie for your clarity and for challenging these deeply entrenched norms. Yes, we are still battling these issues, and yes, we have a long way to go, but the movement is building and the zeitgeist is changing. My favourite quote: ‘We don’t need anthrax, we need amtrak!’ Thank you Maggie!
