In the UK Ageism is the most prevalent form of discrimination. This project raises awareness of ageism across the UK by hacking traditional historic markers. Ageism is the kind of thing we've been programmed to fear. Purple plaque aims at recognizing the people who have did extra ordinary things. Everybody is capable of doing anything despite their age.

A conversation has opened up a conversation about ageism as an implicit bias in our society.  Kristen Shaughnessy is urging companies to have diversity at the top levels and in their boardrooms, not just in age, but in gender, race, religion and lived experiences.

A call for companies to make age a criterion for diversity—alongside gender, race, religion & lived experience—& for those at the top to walk the walk
